Giant Moth In British Columbia, Canada

I work at a Marina in Howe Sound, BC Canada. Every year I see HUGE moths flying in the light, or ones that had a fight with a bird/bat and lost (the last 3 photos, his wings are damaged).

If they can’t fly, then they are fed to one of the many spiders that are around the marina (they are going to die anyways, if they can’t fly they can’t feed).

The tears in this Antheraea polyphemus (Silk moth) he was attacked by a bat or a bird, and they lost him in the dark, on the ground. He was going to die on the ground anyways, and was fed to a HUGE Wolf spider outside my office.
